Sizing a Dog Collar - (Scroll down for video)

**NOT ALL DOG COLLARS ARE SIZED EQUALLY!**

Please measure around your dogs neck as shown in the picture below. Please measure the exact comfortable size that you determine your dog's neck to be. Please buy our collars according to your dog's neck size, not the collar size.

Unfotunately there are no standards in dog collars. Many different collars may be named the same, but fit very different size necks. For a more accurate fit, all of our collars will list the actual size of neck that this collar fits. Each collar is sized with a range of the smallest possible size to the largest possible size for that collar.

In some cases the designer specifies a size for a collar, in these cases we label the size of the collar given by the designer, and also the actual size that the collar will fit behind it.

For instance, One designer may have a collar they call a 14 which is listed:
Size 14 fits 13.5in-14.5in.

Another Designer may also have a collar named 14 that actually is listed;
Size 14 fits 11in-13in.

Please pay attention to the actual size the collar fits.

If you do not have a flexible tape, a ruler or a yard stick will do. You can use your dog's existing collar to find out their neck size. Please measure your dogs existing collar from the buckle to the hole that your dog uses. This is their actual neck size.

We highly suggest that you read all sizing information for each piece of clothing VERY carefully to insure you get the best fit for your pooch, and avoid any costly return shipping fees. In order to find the right size of clothing for your dog, please complete the following measurements with a measuring tape;

1. "Chest" Size of your dogs chest, all the way round, directly behind the front legs and around the back. It is our opinion that this is normally the most important measurement for clothing. If it is too small, it will not fit, if it is too big, your little one will get caught in it and not walk comfortably.

2. "Back" Length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. This is the most common measurement for clothing, however the back length will not matter if the chest measurement is not appropriate, use this more as a guide to how low your shirt or dress will be on your baby's back.

3. "Neck" a comfortable distance around your dog’s neck. This size should always be measured when sizing for a collar.

If a clothing chart exists on the same page as your item, please refer to that chart.

If measurements fall between two sizes, please select the larger size.

I have a small dog. Shouldn't I be buying clothing in small?

Most of our clothing is specifically made for small dogs, so some of our larges are the size of the "small" dog clothing you would usually see at a retail store. Generally a small in many of our collections could be worn by a tiny dog weighing only 2.5 pounds!

Can I figure out my dog's size by its weight?

There are so many different kinds of dog breeds that it is hard to determine what size your dog would be with only their weight. Weight charts are provided for some of our clothing lines, but these are to be used loosely only as a general guide.

If at all possible, please try to find out what breed the dog is, and whether the dog is small, normal, or large for that particular breed.
