Collars

**NOT ALL DOG COLLARS ARE SIZED EQUALLY!**

Please buy our collars according to your dog's neck size, not the collar size.

Unlike many store bought collars, our collars are not sized by the length of the fabric or leather. For a more accurate fit, our collars are sized according to the actual size of your dog's neck. Each collar is sized with a range of the smallest possible size to the largest possible size for that collar. In some cases the designer specifies a size for a collar, in these cases we label the size of the collar given by the designer, and also the actual size that the collar will fit behind it.

For instance, a collar which has been labeled a "14" by it's designer, and is 1/2 inches thick and has notches at 12.5 inches, 13 inches, and 13.5 inches would be labeled as Size14 by 1/2in fits 12.5in-13.5in.

To determine the proper collar size for your dog, measure around your dogs neck with a tape-measure (see chart below). Find the exact measurement of your dogs neck with just enough room added as you feel is necessary for them to be comfortable. The collar that you purchase should fall into that size range.

Note: Because collars may vary so much, please do NOT buy our collars according to other pet store sizing charts, or collar sizes.

Gifts for other dogs

Buying gifts for other people’s pets can be a tricky subject. GlamourDog highly recommends that you give us a call and let us help you pick out the right size for your gift. If at all possible, please try to find out what breed the dog is, and whether the dog is small, normal, or large for that particular breed.

Clothing

GlamourDog carries clothing lines from many different designers that often have very different sizing scales. We highly suggest that you read all sizing information for each piece of clothing VERY carefully to insure you get the best fit for your pooch, and avoid any costly return shipping fees. In order to find the right size of clothing for your dog, please complete the following measurements with a measuring tape;

1. "Chest" Size of your dogs chest, all the way round, directly behind the front legs and around the back. It is our opinion that this is normally the most important measurement for clothing. If it is too small, it will not fit, if it is too big, your little one will get caught in it and not walk comfortably.

2. "Back" Length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. This is the most common measurement for clothing, however the back length will not matter if the chest measurement is not appropriate, use this more as a guide to how low your shirt or dress will be on your baby's back.

3. "Neck" a comfortable distance around your dog’s neck. This size should always be measured when sizing for a collar.

If a clothing chart exists on the same page as your item, please refer to that chart.

If measurements fall between two sizes, please select the larger size.

I have a small dog. Shouldn't I be buying clothing in small?

Most of our clothing is specifically made for small dogs, so some of our larges are the size of the "small" dog clothing you would usually see at a retail store. Generally a small in many of our collections could be worn by a tiny dog weighing only 2.5 pounds!

Can I figure out my dog's size by its weight?

There are so many different kinds of dog breeds that it is hard to determine what size your dog would be with only their weight. Weight charts are provided for some of our clothing lines, but these are to be used loosely only as a general guide.
